A little more about me...
I'm a Seattle native and a daughter of two Eritrean immigrants. My upbringing was a patchwork of two very different universes—a Western landscape with deep roots to East Africa.
Living between these extremes, I’ve found wisdom in both of their philosophies, which today, I embrace as fundamental truths of life: First, that technology is our most powerful tool for creating a more perfect world; and second, that people and community are what give our lives purpose. Along this middle path, I am excited to use technology to foster connection and unlock human potential.
Outside of class and personal projects, I love to shoot photography, experiment with healthy-ish recipes, and build community in all the spaces where I’m present. One of the cornerstones of my college experience has been Stanford’s Ethiopian and Eritrean Student Association, where I proudly served as president last year!
At Stanford, I was privileged to be one of twelve students selected for the prestigious Mayfield Fellows Program - an intensive nine-month fellowship focused on technology entrepreneurship. Through this program, I've gained invaluable insights into how clever ideas, ethical leadership, and cutting-edge technology can create ventures that drive meaningful societal progress.
